Viaduct, Campbell, 23 May (21 pegs) & Knockout Results

Following on from the return to winter over the past month or so the sun finally shone and the carp decided to "get it on" ...... which didn't stop Trigger from smashing Alan Healy's club record by 46lbs with 270lbs 12oz from peg 124!
It wasn't so long back that a ton was unheard of in a club match so it just goes to show how the fish have grown (the anglers are still crap!)
Trigger caught by donning Paul Elmes' polaroids and mugging cruisers at 16m with a long line.
Second place went to Neil Mercer, nearly a ton behind, but with a still impressive 178-4 from 112 using the same method as Trigger but with his own polaroids!!
Mr Consistent took the third spot from 135 with 109-7 and Chris Szackacs managed to avoid the silvers on peg 123 and take 4th with 82-9.
Top silvers went to Bob (the tench) Warren with 21-10 from 119 (next time I draw that peg I know how to fish it ...... cheers Chris!) and the second silvers place went to Paul (beaver) Elmes with 8-11.
With one match left in the Committee cup, Adam (two-nose) Caswell retains the top position with 128 pts with Alan Healy and Chris Zaks close behind on 123 & 122 pts respectively so the result could be anyone's at Sedges next week.
In the knockout (first round) Adam Caswell, Simon Belcham, Alan Healy, Bob Warren, Paul Elmes, Darren North, Mike Smith, Neil Mercer, Steve Hutch and Ryan Radford all go through to the second round with Derek Lucas, Trigger and Steve Burgess also going through (by default)*
Mark Radford and steady Eddie Wynne drew their match 1-1 but tied on points so will have a "fish-off" at Sedges.  Mark will need to pray to the fishing gods for a decent draw as Eddie Wynne is guaranteed one.
The second round of the knockout and first round of the "plate" (losers knockout) will start at Viaduct on June 6th with the draw at the meeting on Tuesday June 1st.
Also at the meeting will be the draw for the pairs which will follow last years format ie: finishing on the match previous to the Christmas match and with a £5 entry fee.

* Their respective knockout partners didn't fish any of the three qualifying matches.

    1. if members want to stalk carp they should become bivvie divvies instead of match fishing

    2. It's difficult to get a decent photo of an angler - I thought this one was pretty good. However, I suggest that next time you check that a fat bloke isn't walking by at the time!!

    3. If I had some time on my hands I would attempt to photoshop the fat bloke out of the picture

    4. fair play to craig, that was a top class display of angling,i was pegged next to him and i gotta say he worked damn hard for that weight and got it spot on,with fish spawning all over the lake that was the only way to catch by dapping for cruising fish, but it wasent just a case of dropping a pellet on their nose you had to come from behind them and swing it just in front of them, come from the front or drop your pole to low and they just spooked and bolted off,in the last two hours it was quite surrel as me, craig and eddie wynne were all sat in a row with 12metres pushed behind us and acouple of metres in front with our dapping rigs just scanning the water then you would see a fish swing out drop and if you got it right elastic would tear out!!!
