Second leg of the Campbell mini series
and the Knockout Final!

Ryan Jordan showed his true all-round class today winning not only the match but also taking the Campbell mini series superpool and also the "silver peg" money.
Ryan drew the noted tench flier, peg 123, where Bob Warren had weighed in 57lbs of them in the previous match, but wily Ryan ignored the obvious and instead went for the carp and it paid off with 142lbs of them finding their way to his nets!
More usually noted for his skill on the pole in Tony Rixon's "float only" series, Ryan caught steadily all day on the straight lead with pellet fished to the edge of Alan Healy's peg.
Meanwhile, the prestigious Knockout Cup final proved to be a nail-biter between Avon Angling superstar Craig (Trigger) Edmunds and Match Secretary Steve Burgess.
Drawn next to each other with Trigger on the famous "spit", peg 128, and Steve on the unfancied peg 127 it looked like being a whitewash but Steve, wearing his lucky pink t-shirt matched with shorts and flip-flops had other ideas.
Steve foul-hooked a carp on his first chuck with the pellet waggler and by the end of the first hour had six fish in the net to Craig's none. But as the day went on the fish in front of Steve had become cagey whereas Craig's peg began to improve steadily.
Steve, then started to catch well shallow on the pole at 14.5m but was hampered by a jammed topkit whilst Craig, bored of catching silvers, found the carp were "stacked up" on his pole line, but by then it was just too late for him to catch up.
Steve eventually weighed in 103-15 to Trigger's 103-7 to ensure his name would be added to the famous knockout trophy!
Meanwhile on the other side of the lake, Alan Healy on peg 118 managed to shake off his recent run of poor form by taking second spot with a healthy 136-7 and his travelling partner, Mark Radford, finally got his paste-head together on peg 125 to weigh in 112-14 for third place although it would have been 12lbs more had he not broken the Viaduct 80lbs per net rule!
At the other end of the lake Stevie Wynne provided the day's entertainment when one of the few carp that he managed to hook decided to take his pole for a swim around the lake until both the pole and the fish were rescued by Rich Jones!
